J.R.R. Tolkien
My interest in J.R.R. Tolkien
began when I discovered he was a
friend of C.S. Lewis’s. I first
wrote about him in a very early
issue of Mythlore, a journal of The
Mythopoeic Society of California,
then edited by the wonderfully
named Glen GoodKnight. My first
book about him appeared in 1992,
later revised.
